Welo Data Wins Best Cyber Security Innovation at the Global Business Tech Awards

February 26, 2026

NEW YORK —

Welo Data, the multilingual data and evaluation partner for foundation labs and enterprises deploying generative AI systems globally, today announced that its Network Identity Management and Operations (NIMO) platform has won Best Cyber Security Innovation at the Global Business Tech Awards 2026.

NIMO is a cybersecurity framework purpose-built to secure the AI supply chain. As AI systems increasingly rely on globally distributed human contributors for data labeling, evaluation, and reinforcement learning, new vulnerabilities have emerged, including identity spoofing, coordinated fraud, and synthetic personas that can compromise data quality and therefore model performance.

Built on enterprise-grade security principles from financial services frameworks such as Know Your Customer (KYC) and real-time transaction monitoring, NIMO creates a dynamic security perimeter around the human layer of AI development. Powered by AI models, it combines verified identity, device intelligence, behavioral analytics, and adaptive trust scoring to ensure that only legitimate, consistently trustworthy contributors produce and interact with sensitive model data.

NIMO conducts security management at scale, screening and processing around 1 million real-time events per month. Over the last two years, NIMO has detected and flagged an increasing number of transactions suspected of fraud or misrepresentation as fraud and cyber-attacks have become more prevalent more broadly.

By integrating cybersecurity tooling, behavioral science, and AI-driven anomaly detection, NIMO has consistently increased the effectiveness of early-stage fraud detection and therefore the ability to deliver high-quality training data to foundation model builders.

“Generative AI systems are only as trustworthy as the data used to train them,” said Siobhan Hann, Welo Data GM. “With NIMO, we have built a security-first framework that protects the human layer of AI development at global scale. When you mitigate fraud and increase transparency, you directly improve data quality and model reliability. This award validates our belief that AI innovation must be matched by equally rigorous advances in data integrity, workforce verification, and risk management.”

In addition to NIMO’s win, Welo Data’s Model Assessment Suite (MAS) was recognized as a finalist for Best Use of Data. MAS supports foundation model development and enterprise AI deployment by delivering high-quality, multilingual datasets and evaluation frameworks designed to improve performance, safety, and consistency across languages and markets.

Together, NIMO and MAS reflect Welo Data’s broader strategy: combining human expertise, AI-enabled automation, and enterprise-grade governance to operationalize trustworthy AI at scale.

As global adoption of generative AI accelerates, safeguarding the authenticity of human-sourced training data has become a strategic imperative for both foundation labs and enterprises. By securing contributor identity, continuously monitoring behavioral risk, and embedding automated trust and safety workflows into data operations, Welo Data is helping to establish a new industry benchmark for AI supply chain integrity.

“AI integrity does not happen by accident,” comments Chris Grebisz, Welocalize’s CIO. “It requires sustained investment, strong governance, and a team willing to challenge assumptions about how human data pipelines should be secured. We are proud of what the team has built and honored that the Global Business Tech Awards’ judges recognize its importance.”
