Toyota Woven City Expands Trials and Plans AI Vision Engine Update

Woven by Toyota says approximately 30 proof-of-concept projects are underway at Woven City in Japan, a year after the mobility testing community opened. Seven organizations have joined its inventor program, taking participation to 31 companies.
The company plans to release AI Vision Engine 2.0 by the end of 2026. It says the update will add reasoning about events and recognition of specified behaviors to its visual-data analysis capabilities.
Woven by Toyota also reported that household robots had completed more than 1,000 trial tasks across 11 homes as of September 24. Construction of the development’s second phase began this month, with completion targeted for November 2028.
