Jakarta – July 22, 2025 – Zimbra, the world’s largest open-core email and collaboration platform, is strengthening Indonesia’s public sector resilience through its partnership with PT Kereta Api Indonesia (PT KAI).  

This partnership highlights a growing shift toward sovereign, secure digital infrastructure to meet Indonesia’s rising demand for data protection and compliance.

PT KAI, Indonesia’s state-owned railway operator, partnered with Zimbra to upgrade its legacy email platform with a more secure and scalable alternative. Zimbra’s Network Edition helps PT KAI gain full control over its communications infrastructure, ensure data security and compliance, and improve system reliability across a vast national network. The new system integrates with PT KAI’s existing IT environment, enabling better identity verification and operational coordination for more than 28,000 employees.

Future phases are under consideration to expand the deployments further, both within the respective institutions and potentially across other regulated sectors. The partnership serves as a model for secure, policy-aligned transformation as Indonesia advances toward its digital economy goals.
