Holman partners with ChargedEV for flexible home charging solution

May 15, 2025

Leasing and fleet management specialist Holman has partnered with EV infrastructure provider ChargedEV to enhance its home charging offering, delivering a flexible solution for installation, payment and servicing.

Holman believes that home charging - when paired with the right home energy tariff - is the most cost-effective option for fleets, around three times cheaper than depot or workplace charging, and over ten times cheaper than public rapid charging. As a result, Holman makes it a strategic priority for its customers wherever possible.

Holman’s partnership with ChargedEV takes a proactive approach with a fully managed, end-to-end home charging solution tailored to their specific needs. This way, the experience many other businesses and fleet managers encounter is avoided, where home charging infrastructure is often overlooked until vehicles are already on order or even ready for delivery, leading to a poor installation experience and, potentially, a sub-optimal product being fitted.

Holman selected ChargedEV because they provide a range of home chargers from leading brands such as Ohme and Indra, renowned for their innovative and reliable technologies. ChargedEV install, service and maintain the chargers for customers, ensuring that businesses and their drivers can select the right solution for their needs and are fully supported throughout the process.

By offering a range of chargers from multiple manufacturers, the solution is future-proofed – providing flexibility as the market evolves, and mitigating the risk of being tied to a single supplier. Alternatives can be integrated seamlessly, ensuring continuity and choice for customers.

To select a new provider, Holman undertook a full tender process involving a complete review of the UK home charging market, engaging with multiple home chargepoint manufacturers directly as well as multiple install providers.

ChargedEV’s ability to simplify and manage the process of selecting, installing, and maintaining chargers for customers, as well as employing the largest dedicated and nationwide network of over 50 electricians, were seen as crucial points of difference.

“We were impressed with the strength of ChargedEV’s offering, especially having their own employees carry out every install rather than subcontracting this element. As a result, installations are completed to a very high standard, and include ultra cabling and surge protection devices as standard,” said Ross Palman, Project Lead – Electric Vehicles, at Holman.

Andrew Pealin, Commercial Director at ChargedEV, added: "We’re proud to be partnering with Holman to support their customers on the journey to electrification. Together, we’ve developed a seamless and fully managed home charging solution tailored to the needs of fleet operators.

“From streamlined onboarding and driver communications to installation and ongoing support, this partnership ensures a high quality experience at every step, helping businesses make the switch to electric vehicles with confidence and ease."

For Holman’s fleet customers, critical factors of the partnership with ChargedEV included chargers having full compatibility with the most competitive EV home energy tariffs and reimbursement providers, alongside tailored driver communications and customer payment models. Together with Holman, ChargedEV has also created a bespoke knowledge hub to answer all queries around the process, products and offering for fleet managers and drivers.

“Solving the complex issues of paying for and installing home chargers is a key electrification challenge, especially for fleets with commercial vehicles. We believe that the offering created between Holman and ChargedEV is the most advanced of its kind on the market, and allows every type of business to put systems in place that suits their particular needs,” Palman added.

Aidan Bartlett, Head of Marketing & Product Development, continued: “This partnership is the first of many new products and services we’re introducing to support our customers across their entire Buy-Drive-Service-Sell lifecycle.

“Key to this is supporting our customers’ journey to electrification with products like Homecharge, ensuring that when a business is ready to switch, Holman can provide them with all the tools they need to transition effectively and efficiently.”
